Lead Designer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to join our team in Brisbane.

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Lead Design role in a Heavy Industry/Construction environment.

Main Responsibilities:

As a Lead Designer, you will be responsible for leading the engineering design and federated 3D model development associated with major greenfield capital projects involving a manufacturing/processing facility.

You will manage the design and build of the project's federated 3D model, including the collation of various Engineering Service Providers' and Design Consultant outputs, weekly coordination of uploads and updates, and the integration and management of the offshore Engineering Service Provider.

Additionally, you will project manage the design and build of the Plant 3D project, resource library, and P&ID symbols.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Lead Design role in a Heavy Industry/Construction environment.
  • Extensive 3D design experience in engineering & design, as well as problem-solving abilities.
  • Federated model and Plant 3D P&ID development, integration, management & coordination.
  • Autodesk Product Suite, including Vault administration and use.
  • Design/project management experience.
  • Diploma in engineering.
  • Cert IV in drafting.
  • Mechanical trade qualification.

Preferred Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent and proficiency in Plant 3D and Autodesk Inventor software are desired.
