Design Manager Role

Responsibilities
  • Manage engineers and drafting staff to ensure technical competence meets project requirements.
  • Programme workloads and provide guidance to engineering teams.
  • Work with management on resource planning processes to meet project needs.
  • Administer technical briefs for sub-consultant engagement.
  • Prepare and control the project management plan.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other designers as required.
  • Authorise and issue documents and drawings.
  • Respond to queries from contractors and project staff in a timely manner.
  • Identify, investigate, record and report on non-conformances.
  • Ensure compliance with design management systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree is essential.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 10+ years' industry experience is necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of organisation projects and practices is crucial.
  • Leadership experience in managing technical/project teams is vital.
