Your Responsibilities

A typical day in this role may involve:

  1. Evaluating and underwriting new business and renewals, providing timely and professional quotes.
  2. Engaging in meetings to contribute to strategic development, share insights, and promote best practices.
  3. Reviewing and enhancing underwriting standards, procedures, and checklists.
  4. Ensuring all documentation is precise and adheres to organizational protocols and legal requirements.
  5. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, intermediaries, and internal teams.
  6. Assessing risks for new business in line with standards to ensure profitable growth.
  7. Staying informed about current legislation, best practices, underwriting acceptance criteria, systems, and organizational guidelines.

Candidate Profile

To thrive in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  1. A background in commercial operations is advantageous.
  2. Experience in domestic and landlord insurance is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with Business Packages and Farm insurance is desirable.
  4. Flexibility to manage a diverse and evolving portfolio.
  5. Established relationships with customers and brokers.
  6. A comprehensive understanding of class-specific underwriting and reinsurance principles.
  7. Proven awareness of market conditions relevant to specific classes or portfolios.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
