About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Perfusionist to join our team as a Lead Perfusionist in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit at Searson Buck. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality perfusion services to patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical perfusion services, including setting up and operating cardiopulmonary bypass equipment, and ensuring the provision of blood circulation, gas exchange, and total body hypothermia.
  • Operate equipment used in association with cardiopulmonary bypass, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, ventricular assist devices, and blood gas machines.
  • Participate in the selection of equipment for cardiopulmonary bypass and associated procedures, and ensure adequate supplies of disposable equipment are available.
  • Ensure the provision of user maintenance of relevant equipment, including calibration of biomedical and monitoring equipment.
  • Provide training and supervision for clinical perfusion staff, and ensure the provision of all necessary procedure and protocol manuals.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in perfusion recognized by the Australian and New Zealand Board of Perfusion.
  • Holds a Certificate of Clinical Perfusion awarded by the Australian and New Zealand Board of Perfusion.
  • Current ANZCP registration.
