Job Opportunity:

Senior Energy Market Strategist

Jacobs is seeking a seasoned consultant to drive growth in our Energy Markets Advisory team. As a Senior Energy Market Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies that expand our energy market offerings across the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute commercial proposals focused on the energy transition across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Identify, secure, and deliver strategic advisory projects in the energy markets space and energy transition services.
  • Collaborate with engineers, economists, and data analysts to solve techno-economic challenges in the future power sector.
  • Conduct technical and market due diligence assignments, bridging our world-class technical teams with economic modelling experts.
  • Apply economic theory to energy markets and provide technical expertise in areas such as market studies, cost-benefit analysis, and energy policy.
  • Mentor and develop team capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in economics, mathematics, statistics/data science, operations research, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in energy market advisory roles, ideally in a consulting environment.
  • Strong quantitative modelling skills and research abilities.
  • Expertise in energy/regulatory frameworks applicable to power generation and distribution.
  • Deep understanding of power plant technologies, including performance parameters and cost structures.
