About the Role

The Australian Community and Crime (ACIC) is seeking highly skilled and experienced Human Resource (HR) Advisors to join our newly established People Branch. As an HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the ACIC and its people, from delivering on attraction, recruitment, and retention strategies to supporting employees and managers in relation to entitlements or wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and services to stakeholders on a range of HR-related functions.
  • Lead the development of HR policies and procedures that meet legislative and agency requirements.
  • Support consultation with staff and union representatives during times of major change or the introduction of major initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively, developing and maintaining productive working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Identify and implement improved HR processes and workflows which reflect innovative and forward-leaning HR practices.
  • Provide accurate operational and strategic advice in relation to industrial instruments, relevant legislation, and policies.
  • Manage complex people cases with expertise, sensitivity, and discretion.
  • Demonstrate experience in mentoring or supervising team members.
  • Demonstrate relevant technical skills/experience for the team that you are applying for.
Requirements
  • Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
  • Security Clearance: The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
