Mechanical Technician (Fitter)

Job Summary

The role of a Mechanical Technician (Fitter) is to perform preventative maintenance, inspections and corrective actions on automated machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overhaul and Maintain Automated Filling and Packaging Machines
  • Perform TIG stainless steel welding and lathe/milling work
  • Operate Microsoft software packages and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Work according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles with an appreciation of aseptic processes
  • Support manufacturing on a shift roster, demonstrating flexibility to meet operational needs
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate 3 Mechanical Engineering trade or Indentured Certificate as a Fitter & Turner
  • Proven experience in maintenance and operation of automated filling and packaging equipment
  • Experience in a regulated GMP environment in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing is advantageous
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and work traceability standards is highly desirable
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards

As a successful candidate, you will be able to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. You will be comfortable working under pressure and be willing to adapt to changing priorities.
