Launch Vehicle Operations Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Launch Vehicle Operations Team.

The team will be responsible for developing policy, operational procedures to conduct launch vehicles testing and operations. This position requires a dynamic and rewarding leader who can drive results based on efficiency, safety, delivery, and cost metrics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Launch Vehicle Operations Team conducting testing and launch operations for multiple programs
  • Develop a safety-first mindset within your team and develop initiatives to reduce injuries common to launch and testing operations
  • Review operational procedures and make change recommendations when processes can be improved
  • Empower your team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
  • Meet aggressive and dynamic operations schedules that keep launch and testing milestones fulfilled
  • Assess headcount needs of the Launch Vehicle operations team and vet new hires with appropriate skill sets
  • Monitor maintenance, test infrastructure costs, and drive cost savings
  • Identify operational challenges and develop creative solutions
  • Continually improve processes, safety, and cost effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or similar discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience in operational activities (testing, maintenance, product operation)
  • 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and technicians
  • Exceptional work ethic, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to obtain and retain new information
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to work well in a safety-critical, dynamic environment
