Compliance Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Compliance Manager to join our Product team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in regulatory compliance, with a strong background in and knowledge of financial regulation in Australia and New Zealand.

This role requires a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and regulators' expectations. You will be responsible for creating and improving products in a compliant and scalable way by working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and improve our products in a compliant and scalable way by deeply understanding both the product and local regulatory expectations in AU/NZ.
  • Perform regulatory analysis of new products and services, and ensure that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch.
  • Enable product teams to adopt a risk-based approach in developing products, processes, and controls.

Regulatory Risk Management:

  • Stay ahead of regulatory compliance trends and the regulatory agenda in AU/NZ.
  • Identify and align with risk owners and second line of defence on the main regulatory issues and risks in AU/NZ. Present this in a very clear and understandable way to wider teams, and work collaboratively to define and execute mitigation plans.

Regulatory Change Programs:

  • Conduct regulatory change gap analysis and ensure that implementation plans are executed in a timely manner.
  • Work with global teams to maximise synergies with other regulatory implementations and drive consistency and scalability by leveraging programs of work already executed or in flight across the company.
  • Empower Product Teams to build compliant-by-design products and services by advising them on regulatory implementation in a customer-oriented manner while fully adhering to regulatory requirements.

Audit And Remediation:

  • Manage audits, and (where required) challenge audit findings in collaboration with Product and second line of defence Risk and Compliance teams.
  • Develop remediation plans, and ensure they are agreed upon across lines of defence and executed promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in regulatory compliance, with a strong background in and knowledge of financial regulation in AU/NZ.
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to effectively interact with different audiences.
  • Problem solving attitude, with the ability analyse and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively with data to drive practical, actionable and value-adding business decisions.
  • A team player with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders.
  • A natural owner, that drives and delivers project from inception to completion, timely and with attention to detail.
  • Legally authorised to work in Australia.
