We are seeking a skilled Wellness and Lifestyle Therapist to join our team at Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality wellness and lifestyle services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Wellness and Lifestyle Services: Develop and implement programs that empower residents to engage in meaningful activities, aligning with our Better for Life model.
- Empower Resident Wellbeing: Enable residents to maximize and improve their health, wellness, and quality of life through personalized support and guidance.
- Develop Strategies and Processes: Create and implement strategies that enable residents to take informed risks and live the life they choose, promoting independence and autonomy.
- Contribute to Early Intervention Programs: Develop recovery programs that address lifestyle and wellness decline, ensuring residents receive timely support and care.
- Resident Satisfaction: Listen to residents to ensure they are satisfied with the wellness services and support available to them, fostering a culture of resident-centered care.
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who shares our values of Service, Courage, and Compassion. The successful candidate will possess:
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering and supporting the implementation of wellness and lifestyle programs for older people.
- Previous experience working in an aged care environment or a passion for working with older people, with excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Sound problem-solving skills, particularly when assessing and balancing resident's desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care.
- A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors.
- Proficient computer and keyboard skills, with the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) and various in-house databases.
