Job Description:

As a skilled trailer technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional mechanical services on customer trailers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of your work.

You will perform a variety of tasks, including performing allocated tasks, ensuring quality checks, completing associated paperwork, and recording materials used. You will also assist others when requested and encourage teamwork to support a motivated and competent team operating at maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform the tasks allocated by the workshop controller and service advisors.
  • Ensure all completed tasks are quality checked, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed, parts are compiled and returned to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Always record all materials used on the task.
  • Assist others when requested and encourage teamwork to support a motivated and competent team operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Perform mechanical and general appearance reconditioning of trailer equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with company and/or industry standards within health and safety.
  • Actively participate in our breakdown roster to handle emergency repair calls.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade qualification as Heavy vehicle mechanic or Trailer Mechanic.
  • Proven experience as a trailer technician.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of heavy trailer brake and air systems.
  • Expertise in best practice maintenance.
  • Commitment to quality and timelines.
