Our College is dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusion and celebrating diversity. The Learning Enhancement and Program Support (LEAPS) Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring every student can access and participate in education alongside their peers.

The team consists of Learning Support Coordinators, Learning Support Teachers for both intervention and enrichment, and Learning Support Assistants. The department collaborates with parents, teachers, and other specialists to form a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting students and their learning needs.

The SPARC Program

The Support Program of Applied Readiness for Community (SPARC) program sits within the LEAPS department. This individualized program is designed for students who have significant social and academic challenges within the mainstream classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise, oversee, coordinate, and manage the SPARC and Victorian Pathways Certificate programs.
  • Advocate for students requiring additional support to facilitate their active participation in school.
  • Support teachers and Learning Support staff in their roles.
  • Help families feel heard and connected to their child's education.

Requirements

  1. A qualified teacher or equivalent background with significant experience in disability and schools.
  2. Current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
  3. Passion for supporting students with disabilities.
  4. Ability to implement strategies and supports to help students succeed and feel included.
  5. High-level communication and interpersonal skills.
