Nurse Manager After Hours Position

Our organization seeks an experienced and skilled Nurse Manager to lead our team during after-hours shifts.

Key responsibilities include:
Supervising patient care: Ensure that patients receive safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards.
Collaborating with medical officers: Liaise with Visiting Medical Officers, Hospital Executive, and the respective Nurse Unit Managers of wards and departments to provide comprehensive care.
Workforce management: Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost-efficiently, and coordinate patient admissions/discharges/transfers as needed.
Safety and risk management: Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Leadership and development: Provide overarching management to the hospital after hours, including mentorship and coaching of team members and managing special projects and portfolios.

Essential criteria:

  • 5 years of Registered Nursing Mental Health experience in an acute setting.
  • Recent inpatient mental health management experience at ANUM level or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff.
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members.
  • Ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in a mental health related discipline or management (desired).
  • Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desired).
