About the Role

As a key member of our Group Operations and Risk team, you will play a pivotal role in driving our child and adult safeguarding standards across Save the Children Australia.

What You'll Do

  • Review and strengthen safeguarding frameworks to ensure we do no harm to children, young people, or adults at risk.
  • Build capability in safeguarding across the organisation, including regular delivery of training and continuous improvement activities.
  • Safeguarding Incident Management, including management and oversight of investigations.
  • Internal and External stakeholder management, providing regular insight reporting to SCA Board, Executive, and Senior Management team.
  • Line manage and supervise the Senior Safeguarding Advisor.
  • Senior leader of Group Risk and Operations team, including management responsibilities in the absence of Head of Group Risk and Operations.

Your Expertise

We're looking for someone with strong leadership and people management skills, together with a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, Law etc). You should have a deep understanding of safeguarding principles and approaches, as well as significant experience as a facilitator and leader. Excellent communication abilities are essential, along with the ability to operate at a senior management level and transition seamlessly between strategic safeguarding risk management and day-to-day operational response.
