Job Description

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Analyst to join our Aviation business unit at Melbourne Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving impactful financial decisions and shaping the future of aviation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and report annual budgets and forecasts for the Aviation portfolio, identifying cost drivers and savings opportunities.
  2. Scenario Analysis: Support scenario analysis to evaluate various financial outcomes based on key assumptions.
  3. Monthly Reporting: Manage monthly P&L reporting, including variance analysis, and provide insights to the Aviation business unit.
  4. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models for security recoveries, supporting detailed reporting and reconciliation.
  5. Commercial Support: Provide analytical support to the Aviation Commercial team on financial modelling, reporting, and forecasting.
  6. Forecasting and Risk Management: Assist in maintaining rolling forecasts and capturing risks and opportunities for current and future financial years.
  7. Financial System Management: Ensure accurate and timely recognition of costs and revenue within the finance system (Dynamics 365).
  8. Commercial Queries: Respond to ad hoc commercial queries and deliver well-judged, commercially relevant recommendations.
  9. Executive Presentations: Support the preparation of materials for Board strategy days and other executive presentations.

Requirements:

  1. Tertiary Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or similar.
  2. Corporate Finance Experience: Proven experience supporting a distinct business unit in a corporate finance environment.
  3. Post-Qualification Experience: 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
  4. Interpersonal Skills: Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders.
  5. Analytical and Technical Competence: Highly analytical and technically competent.
  6. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail.
  7. Adaptability: Able to grasp new concepts quickly and with ease.
  8. Independence: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen, commercially focused.
