Technical Product Owner Role

About the Position:

The Technical Product Owner is responsible for delivering infrastructure to support organisational delivery pipelines.

This role will lead the modernisation of internal infrastructure and build internal platforms that enable automation, self-service, and developer productivity.

  • Execute roadmaps for infrastructure and platform services, aligning with business and technology goals;
  • Develop and promote internal platforms providing self-service capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions e.g. Terraform, Ansible and promoting adoption of containerisation technologies e.g. Kubernetes, Docker;
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Product Managers and Business Analysts to provide project estimates and regular updates on project status within an Agile methodology; and
  • Manage and mentor a team of Systems and DevOps Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About You:

You will have all or majority of the following skills and attributes:

  • 10+ years infrastructure experience with a minimum of 3-4 years' experience in a technical leadership role managing a team of infrastructure engineers.
  • Strong skills and demonstrated experience in Red Hat or Microsoft OS stacks.
  • Proven experience operating effectively in a DevOps environment and exposure to the complete SDLC.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively elicit, interpret and translate processes and system information from stakeholders into complex technical solutions.
  • Experience working in a complex environment supporting multiple parallel projects.
  • Previous experience in the payments, banking, finance or other heavily regulated industries will be highly desirable.

Suitable candidates should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities and a proven track record in leading teams of systems and DevOps Engineers.
