Director of Education

Indie School is seeking a visionary Director of Education to lead the continued growth and development of our multi-campus network. This exciting opportunity exists for an experienced educational leader to oversee all aspects of teaching and learning, student wellbeing, and day-to-day operations of our Werribee campus.

The successful candidate will work closely with other senior leaders to facilitate effective holistic learning programs that cater to students in Years 9–12. Reporting to the Executive Principal – Victoria, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of school policies and procedures, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive education plans that meet the diverse needs of students
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the allocated location(s), including student and staff support and management
  • Lead a functional unit with complex objectives and significant resources, including operational responsibilities of defined teams
  • Assist with efficiency analysis, applying solution-focused approaches to manage inefficiencies and ensure quality and compliance
  • Plan, propose, and implement school improvements, demonstrating proficiency within existing rules, regulations, procedures, and systems

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of effective teaching, learning, and classroom management practices
  • Demonstrated experience as an exemplary teacher and educational leader
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively within a team environment
  • High-level decision-making skills with minimal consultation to upper Management
  • Capacity to provide high-level solutions to problems and improve outcomes

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Qualification in Teaching
  • National Police Check issued in the past 3 months and annually thereafter
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Hold a current VIT registration (VIC)

Benefits:

  • $160,135 per annum (plus superannuation) based on skills and experience
