About the Role

Macquarie University is seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join a research team working on a lifestyle-based clinical trial. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing physical activity interventions to promote healthier lifestyles and prevent cognitive decline in individuals at high risk of dementia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement evidence-based exercise plans tailored to individual needs and goals, ensuring regular aerobic and resistance exercise participation.
  • Collaborate with researchers and study participants to provide education on healthy lifestyles, injury prevention, and physical activity promotion.
  • Conduct basic physical assessments as required, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Utilize web-based research platforms, such as REDCap, to manage participant data and track progress.
  • Comply with ICH-GCP guidelines, Australian research protocols, and relevant legislation regarding data collection and storage.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in Exercise Science or a related field, accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist, and experience in developing exercise plans for older adults. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team.
