Flood resilience planning plays a crucial role in shaping resilient communities in the face of climate challenges. As a Flood Resilience Planning Manager, you will lead strategic land use planning initiatives to safeguard lives and property from flood risks.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in strategic land use planning and a solid understanding of government processes and policy making. You will be responsible for providing expert advice on land use planning decisions, focusing on flood affectation and evacuation modelling.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Providing expert advice on land use planning decisions, particularly focusing on flood affectation and evacuation modelling
  • Leading and facilitating the creation of strategic land use planning frameworks, integral to disaster adaptation plans
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and local government, to foster engagement and communication regarding strategic land use planning strategies

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of government legislation, policies, and processes relating to statutory and strategic land use planning. Experience in natural hazard adaptation strategy and planning is essential. Advanced analytical and research skills are required to support decision-making and strategy development.

You must hold a tertiary qualification in public policy, planning, law, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline, or equivalent expertise.
