About the Role

The Public Transport Authority is seeking a dynamic professional to lead our Safety, Risk, and Emergency Management team. This pivotal role requires strategic direction and leadership in all aspects of safety, risk, and emergency management within our Transperth Train Operations division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of safety systems implementation, audits, and compliance with WA Rail Safety legislation and health and safety standards.
  • Advisory role to senior management and coordination with PTA's rail safety governance branch to promote a consistent safety approach across the organisation.
  • Development of safety policies, oversight of emergency management systems, and liaison with external agencies.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • High level knowledge and experience with relevant WA and National Rail Safety legislative requirements.
  • Extensive experience in safety management system preparation, management, and audit.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and techniques.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated well-developed leadership skills with the ability to work with others at all levels.
