We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsellor to join our team at Hope Community Services. As a Senior Counsellor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality counselling services to individuals and families affected by family and domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling to clients affected by family and domestic violence.
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Work collaboratively with the FDV Hub team to provide integrated services and support to clients.
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to other staff members.
- Liaise with external agencies and community services to ensure holistic support for clients.
- Relevant tertiary degree in a field such as community services, social work, or counselling.
- Minimum of two years' experience working in the community services sector, providing support to individuals and families affected by family and domestic violence.
- Strong experience and skills in risk assessment, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, crisis support, and case management.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including being an active team member.
- Understanding of the impact of family and domestic violence on individuals and families.
- Professional membership with a relevant organisation, such as the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, practice standards, and national and statewide strategies to reduce violence against women.
- Passion for supporting individuals and families affected by family and domestic violence.
- Ability to advocate while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
