Beach Lifeguard Role Overview

Are you passionate about the outdoors and working with your community? Do you have the skills and expertise to provide a safe recreational environment at our beaches?

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Casual Beach Lifeguards to join our team at Randwick City Council.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain a safe recreational environment on our beaches.
• Provide an effective lifeguarding service to ensure public safety.
• Make informed decisions during critical incidents and interpret natural conditions and weather.
• Communicate effectively with the public and control large numbers of people to ensure compliance with beach regulations.

Requirements:

• NSW Waterways PWC Licence.
• Bronze Medallion (Surf) and/or Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue).
• Class C Drivers Licence.
• Advanced Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Spinal Management Certificate.
• Defibrillation Certificate.
• Experience and proficiency in surf lifesaving or professional lifeguarding.
• High level of physical fitness and health.
• Demonstrated ability and successful experience in working as part of a team.
• High-level interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills with a diverse range of people and groups.

Working with Children Check:

As per the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012, a Working with Children Check identity number with clearance will be required for an application to be considered for this position.
