About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrologist and Water Management Specialist to join our team in Brisbane or Perth.

Job Description

In this key role, you will provide technical guidance and leadership on various water management related studies and investigations. You will conduct rainfall, flow, and flood assessments, including modeling, mapping, flood mitigation design, and risk assessments.

You will develop and support existing Mine Water group capability in stormwater management and flood studies, as well as undertake designs of hydraulic and other water management structures for mine sites.

Your expertise will be essential in developing hydrological, hydraulic, and probabilistic water balance models to assess surface water/runoff flows, peak flows, and flood risk, and site water management requirements.

You will also support business development activities, develop client relationships, and write proposals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on hydrology.

A Master's degree in hydrology or a related discipline will be advantageous.

You will possess proficiency with GIS applications (ArcGIS suite) and hydraulic, flood modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE), as well as water balance modeling software (Goldsim etc.).

CPEng and RPEQ status or relevant experience to work towards accreditation are required.

You will understand non-Newtonian flow conditions and specific skills related to modeling tailings storage facility dam break assessments.

A resourceful approach to work, displaying initiative and decision-making skills, is essential.

Excellent technical writing skills with experience in proposal writing and technical reporting are necessary.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
