Senior Engineering Leadership Position

The organization is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Engineer to lead our engineering operations in Perth. This is a full-time position responsible for reporting directly to the Regional Maintenance Manager - Southern.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to rigorous engineering standards and certification requirements across their area of responsibility.
  • Maintain and manage infrastructure at the maintenance base to ensure safe and compliant engineering activities.
  • Monitor and control costs associated with aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance.
Duties and Expectations:
  • Provide inspirational leadership of the Perth Engineering staff and actively participate in broader engineering directives.
  • Coordinate schedule-based rostering to meet contractual obligations.
  • Review planned maintenance activities in advance to optimize resource allocation.
  • Co-ordinate critical resources, including manpower, equipment, tooling, data, and aeronautical products, to ensure timely maintenance completion.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering OTP, efficiency, costs, and other metrics at the Perth Engineering base.
  • Audit and update regulatory and maintenance data held at the base to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Evaluate the serviceability of tooling and equipment and develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance/service program for engineering GSE.
  • Monitor training and performance requirements for engineering staff to ensure skill development and competence.
  • Address Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) issues and participate in WHS directives.
  • Perform other duties as directed by AMO leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and adaptability.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and work independently.
  • Show initiative and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Effectively manage strict deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience in airline operations is essential.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements is crucial.
  • Possess a CASA B1 or B2 license and be eligible for Saab 340 type training.
