
Health Information Coordinator

The Health Information Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of health information. This includes coordinating, supporting, and supervising a team of health professionals to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective coding standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and accuracy in health information practices.
- Coordinate and supervise the health information team to ensure they have the necessary resources and training to meet their roles and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of full-time equivalent experience in a tertiary or secondary hospital.
- Completed a Bachelor of Health Information Management or a related clinical coding diploma with Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent.
- Ability to consult in the development of Health Information audit programs.
- Sound knowledge of health fund contract systems and Casemix and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous public/private hospital experience.
- Previous experience in a management role.
