Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Safety Engineer to join our team as a Technical Safety Specialist. As a key member of our Ground Support Equipment contract, you will provide technical expertise to support in-country Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safety expertise in establishing needs, requirements, and specifications for new fleet and equipment requirements, business systems, and processes.
  • Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design of improvements of in-service fleet and equipment.
  • Contribute to System Safety Working Groups, Hazard Logs, and Product Safety Assessment process.
  • Provide expertise in the development of Safety and Systems Engineering content for contract deliverables for new equipment acquisitions, including technical data, Verification and Validation, technical reports, and introduction into service activities.

About You

You will be a seasoned Safety Engineer with a degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, able to demonstrate significant experience in a relatable Safety and/or Engineering role. You will lead safety culture and share your knowledge across the ADF GSE team.

Requirements

  • Relevant Engineering degree

  • Ability to author documents of a technical nature to a high level of quality
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously to lead and contribute towards ongoing system safety process improvements
