English Department Head Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our school community as the Head of English. As a key member of the administrative team, you will work closely with senior leadership to provide educational leadership within the school.

The Role

As the Head of English, you will be responsible for providing professional guidance to English teachers, ensuring they stay informed on relevant curriculum issues and innovations. You will model exemplary evidence-based practice as a leader, providing direction and purpose to staff, building team capacity and cohesion, and promoting an environment of positive learning for staff and students.

The successful applicant should demonstrate a deep understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, with a focus on continuing to build and improve practice around the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait histories and culture, and Culturally Responsive Classrooms. This knowledge, combined with pedagogical skills and leadership acumen, should enable the development of programs tailored to the specific learning needs of all students across a full range of abilities.

  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that facilitate effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes
  • Professional knowledge and ability to apply it to ensure high educational outcomes for all students
