Currently, we are undertaking multiple projects for Rio Tinto across various sectors, including Mine Asset Development. Our new project at Rio Tinto’s West Angeles site requires an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join our team.

As an Earthworks Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing, liaising with, and monitoring staff, sub-contractors, and suppliers. You will also coordinate machine maintenance, plan and implement policies and procedures, and convey construction information to company management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor staff performance, including selecting, evaluating, and controlling performance and meeting deliverables.
  • Coordinate machine maintenance and associated registers.
  • Plan and implement policies and procedures, including those of the company and client.
  • Convey construction information, including statistics, budget information, personnel, and sub-contractor performance, to company management.
  • Resolve problems and identify construction management system improvements.
  • Meet construction budgets and timeframes through implementation of suitable controls.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by ensuring standards and legal regulations are complied with.
  • Enhance the company’s reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to projects and communicating this with clients.
  • Provide planning and logistical support.
  • Participate in company improvement forums, including lessons learnt and procedural reviews.
  • Network and represent the company to promote and nurture future business prospects.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar environment supervising projects in bulk earthworks, roads, camp/office pads, and trenching.
  • Valid HR Licence (C Class minimum).
  • Current White Card.
  • Current Rio Inductions.
  • National Police Clearance within 12 months.
  • Section 44 Appointed Persons qualification, Section 26 advantage.
  • Quality computer and technology competency, as well as communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Familiarity with Procore, Dashpivot, Smartsheet, and MyOSH.
  • 4WD Ticket (or willingness to attend course).
  • Willingness to undertake pre-employment medical, including CVD Risk (Bloods) and LABDAS.
