Hydrogen Geologist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrogen Geologist to join our team and contribute to the development of our regional hydrogen prospectivity mapping projects in South Australia.

The successful applicant will play a key role in planning and overseeing field and laboratory investigations, including aerial, ground, and borehole surveys. Key tasks will include analysing geological samples, rock cores, and cuttings to identify valuable resources.

Working alongside Mining Engineers, Metallurgists, and other specialists, the geologist will conduct initial evaluations of sites potentially rich in petroleum, minerals, or natural gas. Research and interpretation of seismic wave data will be essential in understanding the earth's internal structure and assessing geological stability.

Other responsibilities include investigating how natural forces shape the landscape and ocean floor, conducting research into the composition, history, and development of the earth's crust, and mapping fluctuations in the earth's magnetic and gravitational fields.

The geologist will prepare scientific documentation, study geological stress factors, design and implement soil gas and water sampling programs, and supervise geochemical and geophysical sampling operations. They will also perform compositional analysis using gas chromatography and interpret results to inform exploration decisions.

A strong background in engineering and traffic control is highly regarded for safely executing field operations.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in natural hydrogen geology
  • Australian Master's degree or higher qualification in geology or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in soil gas sampling, water and rock analysis, and gas chromatographs
  • Additional background in engineering and traffic control highly regarded
