Role Overview

The Head of Buying and Merchandise Planning will partner with the Australian Leadership Team to shape and execute our merchandise strategy, fostering a collaborative environment that drives business growth.

FUTURE-FOCUSED LEADERSHIP
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of merchandising professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
MARKET EXPERT
  • Provide insights on consumer trends, pricing, and competitors, leveraging market research to inform product decisions.
  • Create seasonal product briefs balancing market needs with brand vision, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with APAC Buying and Planning to curate assortments, driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Support retail expansion with merchandise plans for new stores and activations, capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
BRAND & STRATEGY CHAMPION
  • Develop and communicate seasonal strategies across functions, ensuring seamless execution and strong results.
  • Deliver impactful product training and storytelling, engaging stakeholders and driving brand awareness.
  • Adapt global initiatives to drive local relevance and growth, staying ahead of market trends.
  • Analyze sales trends and inventory, developing action plans to optimize performance and minimize waste.
  • Recommend visual, promotional, and product adjustments to enhance performance, leveraging data-driven insights.
  • Identify replenishment and incentive opportunities, maximizing revenue potential.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven leadership in merchandise planning within fashion or apparel retail, with a track record of success.
  • Exceptional Excel and data analysis skills, able to extract insights from complex data sets.
  • Strategic thinking, market trend analysis, and innovative product strategy development, driving business growth through creativity.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage stakeholders and build strong relationships.
