Earth Sciences Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Geologist to join our team. As an Engineering Geologist, you will be responsible for conducting survey analysis on the behaviour and mechanics of soil and rock when placed under pressure by proposed structures.
You will investigate geological formations and ground behaviour, conduct scientific investigations and testing to understand the impact of these formations on the design and construction of geotechnical and tunnel projects.
Additionally, you will conduct studies of the structure, nature and formation of the earth's crust to inform against geotechnical and civil engineering design.
In this role, you will manage, perform analysis and carry out geological and geotechnical reporting for projects.
You will also provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards.
- Tertiary degree in Geology or Engineering Geology, or equivalent qualification
- At least 2 years' experience performing a similar role
- Willingness to travel and work on remote sites when required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of independent work and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Valid manual driver's license
