As a key member of the Design Services Division, this permanent full-time position (35 hours per week) requires an individual with a degree in Civil Engineering and eligibility for Membership with Engineers Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on civil design, traffic, transport, and road safety issues. They must possess highly developed report writing and team leading skills, as well as the ability to effectively deal with people at all levels and represent Council capably to developers, consultants, other government agencies, and the public.

This role demands self-motivation, commitment to teamwork, and provision of quality customer service. To be considered, applicants must have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia
  • Highly developed written, communication, and research skills to prepare concise and accurate reports and grant submissions
  • Ability to lead teams and deal effectively with people at all levels and to represent Council to developers, consultants, other government agencies, and the public
  • Demonstrated high-level application of analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use SIDRA software package and interpret the outcome

While not essential, proven track records in Project Management and Civil Design experience, as well as experience in local government engineering/design environments, are considered advantageous for this role.
