A prestigious opportunity has become available to work as a nurse in the healthcare industry. This role would involve working with generous donors, providing a predictable environment with less hospital pressure.

As a registered nurse, you will bring your exceptional customer-facing skills and passion to deliver outstanding service while ensuring Australia's supply of blood products.

  • Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
  • Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process
  • Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
  • Set up machines and collections equipment
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
  • Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation

This role offers paid and flexible self-paced training programs with a balance between on-the-job practice and online class schedules. Key requirements include:

  • Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
  • Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Utilise your expertise having completed a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and hold a current AHPRA registration
  • Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
