About the Role

Viterra is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team based in our Adelaide office. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering electrical projects in accordance with Viterra's technical requirements, as well as maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Ensure electrical projects are delivered in accordance with Viterra's technical requirements, appropriate Australian standards and regulations within the prescribed project delivery schedules and budget.
  • Project Installation and Commissioning: Lead project installation and commissioning safety-related discussions and interactions with contractors and Viterra site representatives to maintain zero harm to people and the environment.
  • Technical Supervision: Provide technical supervision and support of electrical installation and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshooting and Fault Finding: Participate in troubleshooting and fault finding of complex technical issues.
  • Procurement: Procure project-related equipment and services.
Requirements
  • Electrical Trade Qualification: Electrical Trade Qualification and a minimum of five years' experience in electrical trade in Australia.
  • Investigation Skills: Detail-focused with strong investigation skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication and reporting skills and can liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
  • Project Experience: Demonstrated project installation and commissioning experience delivering either heavy industrial/commodities storage and handling projects.
  • Australian Standards and Regulations: Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes of Practice, SAPN Service and Installation Rules.
  • Hazardous Areas Maintenance and Installation: Must have experience with Hazardous Areas Maintenance and Installation.
  • Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and PLC Control Systems: Sound technical knowledge and experience with installation and commissioning of Low Voltage Electrical equipment and PLC Control Systems (Rockwell / Fuji).
  • Industrial Switchboards and Motor Control Centres: Sound experience with industrial switchboards and motor control centres, power quality systems, PLC communication systems over Ethernet, conveyor control, instrumentation and CCTV systems.
  • Machine Safety: Working understanding of Machine safety.
  • Electrical Design Review and Risk Assessment: Experience in Electrical Design Review, Machine SID and Risk Assessment, Project Planning and Scheduling.
  • Quality Assurance and Safe Work Practices: Proven ability to maintain Quality Assurance and Safe Work Practices.
