About the Role

The Risk Management and Audit Committee (RMAC) plays a pivotal role in the governance framework to provide Council with independent oversight and monitoring of the Council's audit processes and risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent assurance and assistance to the Council and the Chief Executive Officer in matters relating to the monitoring of the risk management framework, financial reporting processes, compliance, performance of auditors and the audit program.
  • Assist in ensuring that the Council's risk management practices are effective and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A thorough understanding of the committee's position in the legal and governance framework.
  • Relevant personal qualities, skills and experience within the risk and audit sector.
  • Experience in asset management and change management.
  • The ability to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
