Discipline Head Rollingstock Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Discipline Head - Rollingstock to lead our team in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rolling stock.

  • This role requires an individual with extensive knowledge of railway transport operations and asset management principles.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years' experience as a qualified professional engineer and a current registration as a Registered Practicing Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or the ability to register through an alternate means.
Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Rolling Stock standards and technical specifications.
  2. Authorise changes to Rolling Stock Standards and derogations from ongoing projects and business changes.
  3. Maintain accountability of the discipline by overseeing operational alignment to the standards.
  4. Influence the organisation through professional relationships with key stakeholders across Major Projects, Strategic Projects, and the broader business.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of railway transport operations and asset management principles.
  • Expert knowledge in Rolling Stock Engineering, industry standards, and experience applying this knowledge in complex environments.
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience as a qualified professional engineer.
  • A current registration as a Registered Practicing Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or the ability to register through an alternate means.
