Pathology Collector Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pathology Collector to join our team. As a Pathology Collector, you will be responsible for performing venepuncture and collecting blood and other pathology samples from patients.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Performing venepuncture and collecting blood and other pathology samples from patients
  • Conducting ECGs and fitting Holter monitors as required
  • Processing pathology specimens in line with protocols
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing clerical tasks using basic IT systems
  • Communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and medical staff
  • Delivering patient care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail
  • Working efficiently both independently and within a team environment
  • Prioritising workloads and managing time effectively under pressure
  • Adhering strictly to Work Health and Safety guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require the following skills and qualifications:

  • A Certificate III in Pathology Collection
  • A minimum of 12 months unsupervised venepuncture experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A current driver's licence, Working With Children Check, and National Police Clearance
