Operations Supervisor Role

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Supervisor to join our team at Welshpool Rail Plant Maintenance Facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating a team of up to 20 employees, overseeing labor productivity, materials, subcontractors, plant, and equipment, ensuring planned objectives are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing planned maintenance (PM), breakdowns, and unplanned work against the plan.
  • Delivering scope of works within budget in accordance with company principles and values.
  • Responsible for commissioning and calibration of plant.
  • Liaising with customers and external stakeholders on maintenance, technical, and logistical matters.
  • Managing apprentices and ongoing training program requirements.
  • Effective processing of maintenance reports and timesheet records for supervised staff.
  • Coordinating mobilization and demobilization of plant and equipment for the Rail Maintenance facility.
  • Delivering quality products or services by meeting equipment manufacturers' and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing site safety, quality, and environment controls, identifying potential risks for specific scope of work.

Requirements for success include:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Trade.
  • Rail Plant Equipment experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical competency or detailed level of understanding in area being supervised.
  • Leading Hand experience and proven management experience of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous Mobile Mechanical/Electrical experience in similar role.
