About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the chef in charge and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus
  • Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards set by the Hotel
  • Assist with ordering necessary food items
  • Comply with all WHS, food safety legislation
  • Provide a courteous and professional service and ensure that guest feedback is actioned and communicated to the team

About You

  • At least 1 year work experience as a Demi Chef working in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards
  • Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques
  • Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery
  • Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays
