Job Title: Carpentry Instructor

This role is an exciting opportunity to share your passion for carpentry and inspire the next generation of industry professionals.

About the Position:
  • As a TAFE Queensland instructor in carpentry, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment to students in a classroom or online setting.
  • You will have the opportunity to influence the careers of future industry professionals by sharing your extensive industry knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver training and assessment to students in carpentry, using a variety of methods including classroom, online, and workplace delivery.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to engage students and promote lifelong learning.
  • Maintain currency and competency in vocational training and learning practices, including competency-based training and assessment.
  • Work collaboratively with industry partners and stakeholders to ensure that training is relevant and meets industry needs.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment.
  • Current Queensland Driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
  • High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).
Assessment Criteria:
  • Possess skills and knowledge of national training packages and accredited courses to support competency development.
  • Demonstrate capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities.
  • Demonstrate initiative, self-management, teamwork and sustainable practice.
  • Possess sound knowledge of safe, equitable and anti-discriminatory work practices.
