Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Secure Automation Specialist to join our team in Western Australia.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the development of automation frameworks within Azure Sentinel, as well as the creation and maintenance of automated playbooks for swift incident response. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance incident response efficiency and security resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing SOAR frameworks within Azure Sentinel to automate security incident detection, triage, and response.
  • Creating, maintaining, and optimising automation playbooks for swift incident response, including integration with threat intelligence feeds.
  • Integrating automated workflows within incident response processes to accelerate threat identification and remediation across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Collaborating with vulnerability management teams to automate vulnerability detection and remediation across cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Implementing automated compliance monitoring for regulatory standards, ensuring continuous adherence to frameworks like PCI-DSS.
  • Embedding security checks within the CI/CD pipeline, working with development and DevOps teams to uphold security best practices.
  • Developing automated threat-hunting processes to proactively detect and mitigate potential threats before they escalate.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in automating security operations, particularly with SOAR and CI/CD integrations, and tools such as Sentinel, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Proficiency with programming languages (e.g., Python, C#) and query languages (e.g., KQL, SQL) to support security automation initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of security tools like Azure Sentinel, Defender, and Entra ID to enhance security monitoring and response.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, including PCI-DSS, and experience automating compliance processes.
  • Experience working within an Agile scrum framework is desirable, supporting continuous improvement and collaboration through the use of Jira and Confluence.
