Storeperson Job Description

The role of a storeperson is multifaceted and involves various responsibilities. The primary duty includes planning, picking, and cross-checking orders to ensure efficient stock management.

To be successful in this position, one must employ correct stock rotation principles at all times based on the 'first in first out' rule. This means that older stock should be used before newer stock. Furthermore, any returned stock by drivers should be put back into its appropriate bin locations or placed in designated damaged or low-code areas.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, pick and cross-check orders;
  • Evaluate and implement effective stock rotation strategies;
  • Manage returned stock accurately.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A valid forklift license with high reach experience;
  • Previous experience in cold storage facilities;
  • Possess physical stamina to load/unload containers and delivery vehicles;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills;
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
