Job Description

As a dedicated facilities management professional, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and operating historic buildings while preparing for the transition to new assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, and general building repairs, leading handyman teams and overseeing contractors.
  • Manage asset lifecycles, including transitions to new buildings.
  • Oversee external service providers, ensuring contract performance and safety compliance.
  • Implement safety plans and ensure compliance in construction environments.
  • Support handyman teams and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Address challenges of managing older buildings while preparing for new construction.
  • Ensure buildings remain functional, safe, and meet resident needs.
Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on maintenance skills in carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Leadership experience managing small teams and contractors.
  • Physical capability to perform manual work.
  • Experience with asset management systems.
  • Problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
  • Previous facilities management experience, preferably in residential or campus settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Preparedness to oversee transitions to new buildings.
