Workshop ManagerWe are seeking an experienced Full-Time Workshop Manager to manage our Machining and Mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing resources, coordinating crews, quoting, and purchasing required materials.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and promote a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Effectively manage resources and materials for the successful completion of projects within contract requirements.
  • Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on project progress.
  • Manage machine production in support of workshop requirements.
  • Manage mechanical operations in support of workshop requirements.
  • Review, prepare, and issue production programmes, quotes, and tenders.
  • Business development and planning.
  • Procure and maintain stock levels as required.
  • Monitor major suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Manage all contract claims, variations, and disputes in line with company policies.
  • Promote open and effective communications between crew and work groups.
  • Ensure labour is organised and utilised for project success.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Trade Qualification (e.g. 1st Class Machinist or Fitter Machinist).
  • Experience operating CNC and/or manual machines.
  • Mechanical experience and/or mechanically minded.
  • 5+ years management experience.
  • Management qualifications desirable.
  • Experience in quality, safety, environmental, personnel, and contract management.
  • Highly developed prioritisation skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Solution-focused mentality and complex problem-solving ability.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Work Safe Regulations.
  • 'C' Class Driver's License.
