Job Title: Business Consultant

We are seeking an experienced IT project manager to join our team as a business consultant. As a business consultant, you will work with a variety of clients across different industry sectors, managing long and short-term projects and showcasing your project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project and program business cases, including gathering and defining high-level requirements, plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct project initiation, kick-off, and PI planning sessions.
  • Identify, appoint, and manage project and program steering committees.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across business, IT, and vendors to ensure projects are moving forward.
  • Manage and report on project and product deliverables using client-appropriate approaches and methodologies.
  • Develop detailed project and program plans, including timelines, resourcing, budgets, forecasts, and status reports.
  • Oversee and ensure project resources are delivering and any issues are sorted and/or resolved.
  • Oversee agile/scrum ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, showcases, and retros.
  • Oversee and manage cross-functional project and/or scrum delivery teams.
  • Conduct project closure and handover to business/support.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a project manager with a variety of industry experience under your belt, ideally within not-for-profit, government, telco, aged care, health, or education.
  • Mix of project approaches and methodologies, including agile and waterfall, and relevant certifications such as Prince2, PMBok, etc.
  • Flexible to travel to client sites in the Melbourne metro area, including the outer western suburbs.
