
Senior Water Policy Manager

Job Description
This role involves the identification of emerging issues and policy needs in water resource management. The successful candidate will provide expert strategic advice to senior management on the delivery of outcomes for sustainable resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complex reports, policy submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications, and correspondence for senior management, government committees, industry stakeholders, and external partners.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the development and implementation of water plans and other planning instruments relating to sustainable resource management.
- Lead multi-disciplinary projects, including consultation with stakeholders, to deliver policy outcomes consistent with the overall policy direction of the Queensland Government.
- Maintain constructive working relationships and networks with clients and stakeholders, working collaboratively to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on government commitments.
- Represent the Department and the Queensland Government at external forums and on inter-agency and inter-jurisdictional working parties.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A deep understanding of water resource management principles, policies, and practices is essential, as well as experience in policy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
