Role Summary

The Melbourne Corporate Actions team is responsible for managing the end-to-end processing of complex corporate actions in the APAC region for global clients. The team works closely with global counterparts to ensure our external clients can make informed and timely decisions by utilizing the information provided.

As the Senior Analyst, you will be well-versed in the end-to-end process of voluntary events such as capital raisings, tender offers, and dividend reinvestment plans.

This role will report to the Manager, Corporate Actions based in our Melbourne office. The role is open to both Melbourne and Sydney locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and validate new voluntary corporate actions and create an announcement to be released to our clients.
  • Review unelected balance reports and communicate with external clients and investment managers to obtain an election for domestic and international voluntary corporate actions.
  • Instruct Sub-Custodians and/or agent of Fund Manager decision, effectively and accurately keep clients and fund managers informed of all actions at all times.
  • Work under general supervision, taking responsibility for processing all forms of corporate events and assisting with verification of corporate action processing.
  • Reconcile entitlements and post to our client accounts.
  • Client and Investment Manager query management.
  • Ensure day-to-day deliverables are met. Checklists are to be prepared and submitted to the next level on a daily basis.
  • Identify and resolve problems within established guidelines.
  • Run and create formal reports. Provide day-to-day support and guidance to Corporate Actions Analysts, the Senior Analyst will support the Team Leader with respect to workflow distribution and ensuring the effective use of staff resources.
  • Ensure all cash and stock entitlements are fully reconciled and cleared from the SSR system, document and reconcile internal relevant suspense accounts.
  • Identify, document, and disseminate new procedures and controls.
  • Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
  • May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management.
  • Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees.
  • May manage daily operational activities and supervise day-to-day work of junior level employees (but not a formal management role).
  • Technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas.
  • Deliver a work product that requires less revision.
  • Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.

About You

  • Functional Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Corporate Actions procedures Domestically and ideally within APAC.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Core analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to innovate particularly across the technology and systems used.
  • Be able to work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role.
