Teaching and Research Position

We are seeking an exceptional academic to join our team as a Lecturer in Digital Design. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, with a focus on User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design.

The ideal candidate will have expertise across the theory and practice of UX and UI design, as well as knowledge of creative coding and development practices. Engagement with emerging areas of practice such as spatial user interface design is also desirable.

The Lecturer will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities within undergraduate, Masters and/or Graduate Diploma programs, and maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities.

The role requires collaboration with fellow academics within the teaching team, updating colleagues and students on developments in their subject area or specialisation, and potentially course coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver high-quality curriculum and program materials at undergraduate and/or post-graduate levels in digital design, with specialist knowledge/skills in UX and UI design.
  • Contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas through quality research outputs, publications, new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.
  • Supervise higher degree by research candidates.
  • Built effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding projects through liaison with industry and government.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory: PhD in relevant field.
