About the Role

This is a key position within our team, responsible for developing commercial on-trend ranges that meet sales targets and margin expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Make critical decisions that impact inventory and sales, influencing the company's success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with QA, marketing, and planning teams to foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Trend Research: Research and stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, product innovation, and competitor analysis.
  • Financial Management: Achieve budgeted sales and margin through continuous review of performance, market opportunities, and supplier negotiations.
  • Quality Assurance: Execute the fit process against critical timelines with high-quality expectations, demonstrating an understanding of product construction, fabric, and materials.
  • Customer Focus: Play a key role in understanding customer preferences and ensuring the right products reach the market.

Requirements

  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to achieve quality products within margin targets.
  • Diverse Product Knowledge: Knowledge of materials, market demands, and proven buying and product development experience.
  • Product Development: Proven experience in managing the critical path from end to end, with a strong knowledge of production timelines.
  • Results-Driven: Minimum 3-year experience in a Product Developer/Buyer role with a proven record in delivering results.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build key stakeholder relationships across the business.
  • Financial Acumen: Confident understanding of departmental financials and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Proven team management and leadership skills.
