We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Secondary Design Engineer.
The role involves developing and providing solutions for our customers. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and conducting professional engineering work on relevant aspects of EHV/HV Secondary Systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strategic plans and conceptual designs for EHV/HV Secondary Systems.
- Providing detailed design services in areas including Protection Detailed Design, Primary/Secondary Systems equipment specification and procurement, and communications systems.
- Designing and specifying general AC/DC systems and distribution, power generation, and system integration considerations.
- Checking design work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
- Providing technical support to Business Development, Tendering and Operations as required.
- Assisting with site commissioning.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in electrical engineering.
- At least 3 years' experience in design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of electrical systems and services for high voltage power systems.
- Understanding and knowledge of secondary system design from concept development through to detailed design.
- Strong computer skills and experience with Power System Protection and Automation software packages, equipment suppliers and products.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement of performance, deliverables and efficiencies.
- A positive approach to safety.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and excellent relationship-building, problem-solving, commercial and negotiation skills.
